“Landmark is truly a conscientious, highly professional pool builder and pool renovator. We would highly recommend them. We went through a detailed selection process for a pool company that would renovate our fifteen year old 1260 sq. ft. pool and lanai. We only contacted companies that had a BBB rating of A+, been in business for at least five years and no complaints for 3yrs. We ended up with a short list of eleven companies. Some excluded themselves as they did not cover our area. Of the remaining eight some were high profile names in the Tampa Bay area. One in the Oldsmar area we visited their office/showroom, spoke to their managers and completed a detailed list for them to call us and we never received a call. We invited all of the short list companies to come and quote us and some requested details ahead of the quote. If they did they were sent the original pool and lanai plan with measurements and current photographs. Only Landmark and two others followed through on our request for a quote with an actual visit. We excluded all companies that did not follow through on the request for a quote. Eddie Fernandez from Landmark came when he said he would, was detailed in his assessment and gave us a detailed quote that was understandable and within forty eight hours. At this point we had decided we wanted Pebble Tec and Artistic Pavers. Neither of the other two companies routinely did both of these but could at an increased cost. We therefore went with Landmark. Throughout the selection process Eddie and the office staff were responsive and patient with us, including letting us take home samples of paver and Pebble Tec samples to match with our house colors. They were always available for questions and gently counselled us. We signed the contract and agreed a start date. There was a delay of a day but we were contacted and told in advance. That was not the experience we had with the original builders who we had already excluded from our selection. Eddie had explained the sequence of work and when it would start. Generally that was honored throughout the project with the exception of when weather interrupted work. Then we received a call from Eddie to tell us why there was a slight delay and when the team would restart. Like all pool companies Landmark used subcontractors. All of the subcontractors were professional, courteous and as careful of our property as they could be considering the magnitude and size of the renovation. Premier Brick Pavers Inc., in particular were excellent in that they sent out a senior staff member to check the work and make sure we were happy. There were a few sub-contractor punch list issues that needed attention. Eddie and the office staff ensured the subcontractors completed their issues. Other punch list issues were quickly and effectively completed by Landmarks own staff who were again responsive, professional and courteous. Our one regret – we wished we had used Landmark to build the pool fifteen years ago. They restored our faith in Tampa Bay Pool Builders.”

“Jamie of JB Pool Construction built our 21-metre lap pool 3 years ago. The pool is fully automated with QuikClean Xtreme In-Floor Cleaning, Puresilk Chlorine Control & Chromatalyzer system, Sunlover Solar, and auto water leveling. We are extremely happy with the quality of pool construction, the high standard of finishes and the equipment installation. We have found Jamie to be a pleasure to work with and always professional. In addition, he continues to make himself available when needed even though the pool was commissioned 3 years ago. Jamie recommended the In-Floor Cleaning system (given the length and depth of the pool), and it has been one of the best investments we made during the construction of our new house and pool. Over the last 3 years we have never needed to manually vacuum or sweep the pool interior as the In-Floor Cleaning system does such a great job at keeping it clean. We have found that the water flow and circulation helps the solar heating to evenly distribute warm water throughout the pool and there has never been any algae growth in the pool. “We've just had Robin and John fit a beautiful cedar hot tub and it's fabulous - the look, the quality, ease of use, materials are all perfect. The guys were great company too - nothing is too much trouble and they really know their products. The finish and workmanship is meticulous (they went to a great deal of trouble to source precisely the right fittings to finish the decked area off to be in keeping with the rest of the property. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them and if you do decide to have one of the tubs installed make sure you are around to see the craftsmanship that goes into building it - it's a great experience. “After completing the build of our country home we realized with a very large yard we could entertain the thought of putting in a pool. We had never been pool owners when living in the city and felt we would like to enhance our family leisure time. Pioneer Pools was recommended to us by a family friend who had wonderful experience with service over the years of being a pool owner. The sales staff was very knowledgeable regarding our needs of installing a basic above ground pool to ensure we were indeed a pool loving family. The maintenance and service of the pool has been minimal and easily maintained through the Pioneer store front location. The friendly, helpful staff complete regular water sample tests and suggest the proper maintenance care available within the store. After 4 years of enjoying our pool we are planning to complete our backyard design with an inground pool from Pioneer Pools. Last spring we purchased an 8 seat Hot Springs Hot Tub from Pioneer Pools and it has added much enjoyment to our family. Knowledge of the product, installation and service has been consistent with what we experienced with the pool. “Big Kahuna transferred our non plus sloping backyard into a fabulous outdoor entertainment area. Our backyard now consists of a pool (18X36) surrounded by a patio covered with Travertine stone, a retaining wall ranging from ground level to almost 6 feet high and a fireplace. We also have a 2 tier deck and pergola built with IPE lumber that includes a built in Hot-tub and outdoor kitchen. Our outdoor entertainment area is approximately 2000square feet and can be used almost year round. The pool is never closed because it looks great whether we are at the fireplace, in the Hot-tub or just using the outdoor kitchen. Chris Varholic, owner of Big Kahuna, is not only very knowledgeable and creative, but he was willing to listen to my wife and me and determine what we were trying to accomplish. Chris and all of his people were conscientious, considerate, polite and never left a mess during the construction period. During construction, my wife and I asked for several changes and some changes we agreed to were suggested by Chris and or the construction people. Whenever we asked for or agreed to a change, Chris provided a quotation. We were never surprised. The entire project was completed on time and for the amount we had agreed upon. If anyone is thinking about putting in a Hot-tub, a pool or totally redoing their backyard, Big Kahuna is the organization to contact. We were and are totally satisfied.”
