“I recently moved to a brand new apartment from a traditional Victorian terraced house after 30 years and so I wanted something totally new and different to what I had lived with previously. My taste is not very modern at all and so I was wanting someone who could help me create a really stylish space that would still suit my tastes (quite eclectic I must add!) In addition it is a really small and compact flat and so I needed some clever thinking on how and what to use, where. I decided to try My Bespoke Room as there service felt very affordable (only £75 per room) and they agreed to come and do an on site visit for a very small additional charge. Using them meant that I could still be in control of what was ordered and my budget, as they just gave me all the tools which saved me loads of time. I was so excited to see it transform that I kept updating them and I really felt they were as excited as I was and really into the project too which was really nice! I got on really well with both of them straight away and was really impressed with what they came up with. It is such a slick an easy service and their virtual moodboard is really cool. It covered everything from paint colours, wallpaper to furniture and finishing touches, including coat hooks and an umbrella stand! This was money well spent and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for some help in designing and furnishing their homes. Well done girls!!!”

“Me in my wife lives in Florida and we owned a home in Sunnyvale. Our 10 years renters were about to finish their lease and we wanted to sell the house after they’ll move out.We came to the Bay Area in order to find a contractor that will help us to remodel the house so it will be attractive for the buyers. We interviewed 4 companies and then we met Tal and Guy with Decor Builders. After we sold the house(1 month after we finished the remodel!) I can definitely say that was the best decision we could have made. Tal and Guy were attentive and creative and helped us to remodel our existing layout (3 bedrooms, 2 bath) in a way we didn’t even thought about. They had great advices and even better solutions to maximize the existing layout to create open layout concept so our 1960 house will fit 2020. With all that being said our biggest concern was the fact we were most of the time in Florida and had to do it in a remote control. Tal and Guy made sure to manage the project in a spectacular way and help us get all the parts together! I would like to give them 5 stars for helping us getting this project done and made our house sale easy as possible.”

“We hired Maughan Design for Design and Remodel of our Pearl District condo in Portland Oregon. Work included Kitchen, Bath, Plumbing, Electrical, Casework, Tile, Demo and various finishes We were long distance owners and Kathie and team went the extra mile to ensure smooth coordination. The design(plans) including product specifications were thorough yet easy to follow so we understood the work scope. A schedule was provided and adhered to- which in our opinion is very refreshing. A budget and updates on a regular basis were also provided- we always knew the project status and cost. Kathie and team dealt with all the little extras that invariable come up such as permitting, inspections and homeowners associations. The quality of the subcontractors on her team was excellent - no rookies. We highly recommend Maughan Design. The end product was first rate, on time and within budget and for long distance owners easy and seamless.”

I have an eye for detail, quite seriously bordering OCD and time and time again I am more than ecstatic with the work they have done. “Spaces Renewed is a great company managed by a contractor-designer husband & wife team. Beth has a keen eye for design complimented by Marshall's high professional level of construction expertise. It was a real advantage for us to consult with both of them during the initial consultation, and the computer generated plans gave us a real good sense of what the end product would look like. From start to finish they were pleasant and courteous in every way showing a full degree of trustworthiness and honesty. The contractual documents were clearly itemized with plenty of detail, and all our questions were addressed with great care. They had a very skillful work crew that showed careful attention to every detail, including thorough cleanup at the end of every work day. They were always responsive to any questions or requests we had. Workdays were very consistent with no delays, which made the project come in on schedule. Everything worked out to be right on budget, and the final results far exceeded our expectations. We have no hesitation in giving Beth and Marshall the highest rating, and recommending their company to anyone who wants a thoroughly professional job done.”

“During the 13 month construction our neighbors would comment, "Your contractors are doing a good job on your house and we're impressed that they are respectful of the neighbors. I like it that they don't play loud music and clean up every day." We were happy to hear that. We are even happier with the results. As the first house in Santa Cruz County to be built (technically remodeled) to the Passive House standards, we enjoy a very comfortable temperature throughout the house AND use much less energy than similar houses in the neighborhood. The biggest challenge was the air tightness requirement for Passive House certification. This was tested with a blower door to verify that the house achieve 0.6ACH50 (131 CFM in our case) which is VERY tight. Achieving this level of airtightness in the house that was originally built in 1922, where we kept the original foundation and framing, has not been done before. Santa Cruz Green Builders also installed the first Heat Recovery Ventilator in this area. The professional who came to commission the HRV commented that our installation was one of the better ones he's observed. So, the point of this paragraph is Santa Cruz Green Builders is not afraid to take on new challenges and achieve amazing results. When you hear the words "green building" it may bring the image of a certain contemporary aesthetic to mind. But our house has the curve appeal of a nice old house -- a 1922 bungalow that has the arts and crafts styling with details in the window trims and flared skirt look on the siding. On the interior we are very happy that Santa Cruz Green Builders talked us into keeping the original floors and refinishing them. The tight grains of old fir is appealing and the polished distressed wood brings out the period style. They carefully deconstructed the house so that original base boards, doors, etc. were re-used. We also selected finishes that reflects the old arts and crafts style. When people come to our house they can't tell what's original and what's new. We like that. True to their name, Santa Cruz Green Builders walk their talk.
